It Is A Place That full of Surprises

 

The Vigan City Fiesta is held in honor of St. Paul the Apostle, the city's patron saint, on January 25 each year. Locals and tourists gather to experience and see the street dancing, carnivals, food fairs, and arts and crafts, adding to the attraction of this UNESCO World Heritage City. Vigan is a popular tourist destination because of its museums and architecture. Still, it is also known for its longganisa which is a local kind of salami. The dish is made in accordance with a century-old tradition and has a truly unique taste. Although there were several attempts to replicate the combination of sliced ​​spicy meat, sugarcane vinegar, and garlic, no one can compete with local chefs.

The residents of Vigan enjoy their yearly festival on January 25. It is a week-long celebration wherein resident within or outside of the city can also experience. during the last two years we could say that we did not celebrate the festival because of the pandemic.

A festival is an extraordinary event celebrated by a community and centering on some characteristic aspect or aspects of that community and its religion or cultures. It is often marked as a local or national holiday, mela, or eid.

We celebrate festivals with whole effort and pride. Vigan City Festival in is a festival like no other, a festival you can't compare to the others.

Vigan is unique for having preserved much of its Hispanic colonial character, particularly its grid street pattern and historic urban lay out. Its significance also lies on how the different architectural influences are blended to create a homogenous townscape. Vigan city is a city that is full of surprises and excitement, and that is why Vigan city is very exciting to visit.
